This project truly embodies the JLV philosophy and what can happen when a client is open to the process and to exploring the boundaries of their own style. Pushing the envelope on design selections and architectural details resulted in stunning spaces and truly one-of-a-kind moments throughout this home. A turnkey custom build, JLV was fortunate to influence the architecture from the very beginning, leading to memorable features like the sunken conversation pit in the media room.
Our clients came to JLV with moody, rustic inspiration, but they also loved eclectic color and pattern pairings. JLV was entrusted to craft a space around their lifestyle as a couple that could also display the treasures they’ve collected over the years. As lead Designer on this project, JLV Founder Jesse Vickers was drawn to the client’s inspiration and the challenge of interpreting those juxtaposing elements to strike the perfect balance and environment. An earthy color palette is repeated in a thoughtful way, playing with light and dark moments. The hidden speakeasy, showstopping primary bath and dramatic kitchen, are examples of finding equilibrium between sophistication and warmth, with unexpected surprises tucked in along the way. Set on a private island surrounded by tidal creeks and marshland, the property’s breathtaking views and connection to nature shaped the entire design approach as well. The result is a true sanctuary and a showpiece that reflects the clients’ personality, passions, and lifestyle. Architecture by Collin Cope with build by Daniel Hughes.
