JLV Creative is seeking an experienced Interior Designer to help us take our growing business to the next level. The Designer's core responsibilities and focus will be to guide clients through their individual design process. As well as serve as a trusted advisor to the client’s project team, collaborating closely with architects, builders, tradespeople, vendors, and contractors to ensure seamless execution and exceptional design outcomes. The Designer will report directly to the Creative Director and Studio Director.
Responsibilities of the Interior Designer will be:
- Manage multiple projects per year, independently
- Responsible for project tracking & timeline adherence for multiple clients. Responsible for budget adherence.
- Keep client documentation organized and up-to-date. Keep necessary parties informed of changes that impact project details, budgets, schedules, approvals and selections.
- Create thoughtful and creative designs and supporting documents for successful execution. Create visual project presentations. Ensure that samples are ordered and received prior to client presentation day.
- Stay up to date on current trends and new products. Bring innovative ideas to client projects and team members.
- Schedule any necessary appointments and attends meetings with clients, vendors, and contractors as required.
- Data entry for finish & furnishings selections for client projects
- Communicate effectively and professionally with builders, subs and clients as needed.
- Occasional travel required - generally 4-6 weeks per year
CORE DUTIES: The person in this role is passionate about interior design and an authority on design for our clients and partners. They are committed to providing a luxury experience and can navigate that experience with poise, a sense of urgency, integrity, professionalism, and strong communication skills. A Designer is responsible for ensuring and managing the successful design of multiple projects per year. Day-to-day duties include attending meetings with clients, builders, & installers; leading client presentations; client & vendor communication; creation of digital & physical design collateral to convey ideas (including accurate construction documents, space plans, detailed drawings, renderings, design boards, & any other related materials that convey design concepts & ideas to client & installers); site measurements; general project management; data entry of selections as needed; Asana, hours tracking & calendar maintenance; sample ordering & local pickup when required; adhering to project deadlines; & more. The Designer will manage their own project and clients and meet weekly with the Creative Director to review project progress.
CORE COMPETENCIES: Our ideal candidate would have a proficiency in Chief Architect, a minimum of 3 years of high-end custom residential experience and a design degree. CAD and Photoshop proficiency is a bonus, but not required. Has a strong competency in interior design specifications and industry standards in luxury interior design and architecture. The candidate must be able to easily navigate a busy environment that requires multi-tasking with a sense of urgency in tasks and communication. Must be extremely organized. Strong self-motivation and extreme attention to detail. The person in this role would also display a strong customer service-oriented personality and ability to work well with others for interaction with a variety of people inside and outside of the organization. They would have the confidence & skill to communicate ideas clearly & concisely (verbal & written). They would be upbeat, able to pivot easily, punctual and reliable, have excellent communication skills, enjoy working independently and with a team, have a professional demeanor, and a strong work ethic. They would have their own transportation and a flexible lifestyle so that as travel is needed for the role they can accommodate.
COMPENSATION: Salary range, based on experience: $70 - 120K; with yearly bonus potential of up to $7,500

WORKING CONDITIONS: This candidate will have the ability to work full time, 40 hours per week (hours of 9-5) and some extended hours for marketing events. Must have reliable transportation for travel to and from the office, construction sites, project locations, showrooms, project errands, etc. And have a flexible schedule for some travel required for trade shows and out of state projects (travel based on manager discretion and tenure.) This job primarily operates in a professional office environment and also requires visits to active construction environments at various stages of construction. This candidate is comfortable with performing light physical labor, pitching in at installations or otherwise, which may include but is not limited to: lifting and moving boxes, furniture pieces, and home decor items; moving and/or organizing inventory items; boxing and unboxing items; using a step ladder.
